Summary

#SBIQ was created with FISH, NFL, and Xperiel to bring fun and entertaining trivia for fans of all ages who enjoy the NFL. Trivia questions were released each day on different social media platforms. Users would then enter the correct answer and receive a digital trading card. Design changes were implemented post launch with ease using Xperiel’s visual programming language, Rox, and as a team we were able to respond in real time to bring improvements that worked to increase engagement. This project was created to drive traffic to NFL and Super Bowl 50 events.

Stats

There were a total of 22,724 who interacted with #SBIQ. Over 85% of users came back to enter in the next day’s trivia within 24 hours. A total of 195,639 trading cards were collected. We defined active users as those who collected more than 2 cards. From the metrics collected we saw that there was high engagement driven by the small number of active users. Active users were 30% of the total number of users.

Role & Challenges

My role on this project was the product designer. I designed a checklist and trading cards in collaboration with Panini and the Super Bowl 50 committee. While designing I worked with the SB50 internal team to gain feedback on the look of trading cards to further ensure it resembled the brand guidelines. The checklist was an idea that was designed to for users to help keep count of which cards were already collected at a quick scan. This experience was created for both mobile and desktop. The team at Xperiel noticed with collecting internal stats that there were pain points for users within the experience. Coming across these challenges I assisted in designing tool tips to guide the user in the desired direction and saw increased engagement with internal metrics throughout the timespan of the project.
